Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger was involved in a multi-car crash on Friday afternoon that left at least one person injured.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the incident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Allenford Avenue in Los Angeles, police said. There were multiple vehicles involved in the collision.

A woman was transported to hospital; her condition was unknown, according to authorities. The Los Angeles Police Department would not speculate as to who was at fault

On social media, pictures from the scene show a number of cars with severe damage. Schwarzenegger, 74, was also pictured at this scene, appearing to be unharmed, alongside fitness personality Jake Steinfeld.

Supreme Court has turned down a petition calling for strict censorship of Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's social media posts and the filing of FIRs against her for her anti-Sikh remarks. The court, on the other hand, has granted Mumbai Police permission to continue with their investigation.

According to the reports, a petition was filed before the Supreme Court asking for censorship of the actress' future posts. Advocate Charanjeet Singh Chanderpal further requested that all FIRs lodged across India over her comments on farmers' protests be transferred to the Khar police station in Mumbai. He further requested that a chargesheet be submitted within six months and that a trial be held within two years.

Ranaut's comments and social media posts, according to the lawyer, were "not only terrible and blasphemous," but also "intended to cause riots." According to TOI, the plea read, "The remarks are not only outrageous and blasphemous but also intend to cause riots, hurt religious sentiments, they are defamatory as well as portray Sikhs in a totally anti-national manner. It also justifies the innocent killing of Sikhs. The remarks are totally against the unity of our country and the actress deserves a serious punishment in law. They cannot be brushed aside or excused."

The court was ordered to direct the Union Home Ministry, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India to take preventive measures against Ranaut's social media posts, according to the petition.

Indian Television actor Shaheer Sheikh's father, who was battling COVID-19 and was on ventilator, passed away on Wednesday, January 19. The news was shared on social media by actor Aly Goni.

Aly Goni wrote, “Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un May Allah rest uncle’s soul in peace bhai @Shaheer_S stay strong bhai.”

South Korean musician Andy, who is a member of the group SHINHWA, has taken to his Instagram account to announce that he is all set to marry his longtime girlfriend. In a heartfelt handwritten letter, he addressed his fandom Shinhwa Changjo and urged them to bless him as he enters a new phase in his life.

According to Korean tabloid Soompi, the letter, which was written in Korean, read, "Hello, this is Shinhwa’s Andy. 2022 is the 24th year since Shinhwa has met Shinhwa Changjo. As many years have passed by, many things have happened, but the infinite love and support you all have sent me made me who I am today. I sincerely thank you."

Andy, 40, did not reveal the date of marriage or who the bride-to-be is. But, it is rumoured that the singer has been dating an announcer for a couple of years now.

Andy will become the third member of SHINHWA to tie the knot following Eric, who married actor Nah Hye Mi in July 2017, and Jun Jin, who married a former flight attendant Ryu Yi Seo in October 2020.

‘Weird Al’ Yankovic, the prolific musician behind humorous songs like Eat It and Amish Paradise, is getting the biopic treatment with help from Daniel Radcliffe. Radcliffe will star as the five-time Grammy winner in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the description for the film says it “holds nothing back, exploring every facet of Yankovic’s life, from his meteoric rise to fame with early hits like ‘Eat It’ and ‘Like a Surgeon’ to his torrid celebrity love affairs and famously depraved lifestyle. Weird: The Al Yankovic Story takes audiences on a truly unbelievable journey through Yankovic’s life and career, from gifted child prodigy to the greatest musical legend of all time.”

“When my last movie UHF came out in 1989, I made a solemn vow to my fans that I would release a major motion picture every 33 years, like clockwork. I’m very happy to say we’re on schedule,” said Yankovic. “And I am absolutely thrilled that Daniel Radcliffe will be portraying me in the film. I have no doubt whatsoever that this is the role future generations will remember him for.” Added Appel: “When Weird Al first sat me down against my will and told me his life story, I didn’t believe any of it, but I knew that we had to make a movie about it.”

Yankovic and Eric Appel penned the screenplay, with Appel directing the film and executive producing. Funny or Die and Tango are producing the feature, which begins filming in Los Angeles in early February. The feature will be available exclusively on The Roku Channel.

On the work front, Daniel Radcliffe, will next be seen in Paramount comedy The Lost City, starring opposite Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum.

The third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic has led to all the January films getting postponed. After Delhi shut down cinemas, everyone expected the other state governments to follow suit. But except a handful of states, cinema halls are functioning, albeit at 50% occupancy and minus night shows. Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01, starring Allu Arjun, thankfully has managed to attract audiences but the footfalls are naturally depleting week after week. The exhibitors stared at losses and even temporary closure due to the lack of content.

However, on Monday, they all had a reason to cheer after it was announced that the Hindi version of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo would be released in cinemas on January 26. Manish Shah of Goldmines Telefilms, who released Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01 in Hindi, also holds the rights to Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The latter also stars Allu Arjun and the original Telugu version was a blockbuster. In the words of Manish Shah, “Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is the biggest non-Baahubali hit down South.” Hence, a lot of hopes are pinned on the Hindi version.

Bollywood Hungama recently had an exclusive chat with Manish Shah and he shared some interesting details about the release plans of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s Hindi version. When asked when the theatrical trailer of the film will be out, he replied, “It’ll be out on Thursday, January 20.” The teaser of the film was released on Tuesday, January 18.

As for the screen count, Manish Shah said, “We are hoping to release it in 2000 screens across the country.”

When asked about the promotional plans, Manish Shah made an interesting point, “You can see the promos of the film on our channel, Dhinchak TV. Our whole promotional strategy is focused on the platform where our target audience is present. We plan to target the single screen audience. And they watch movie channels. So, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s teaser and trailer will play in full swing on the movie channels. We’ll also give ads in papers. We are not targeting the elite audience at all. They’ll anyway be informed about Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s release through social media. However, we want to inform viewers who are not on social media but who watch TV channels and read newspapers. Even with movie channels, we have picked those that have a substantial reach in both urban and rural areas, and where fans of dubbed films are present. Dhinchak TV is one such channel; its USP is that it only plays dubbed films.”

A trade expert said, “The promotional campaign of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s Hindi version is of less than 10 days. But it’ll be effective. It’s a good way of cashing in on the success achieved by Allu Arjun with the Hindi version of Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01. The original is a fantastic entertainer and just what the Hindi masses would want to watch on the big screen. For the exhibitors, Allu Arjun and his films have emerged as a godsend in these trying times.”

Besides Allu Arjun, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo also stars Pooja Hegde and Tabu.

American filmmaker Joss Whedon has publicly addressed allegations of misconduct on the set of Justice League for the first time. In a profile published Monday in New York Times, Whedon responded to allegations from actors Ray Fisher and Gal Gadot about mistreatment during reshoots for Justice League, which Whedon oversaw after the departure of original filmmaker Zack Snyder due to the death of his daughter, Autumn.

In the summer of 2020, Fisher, the actor who played Cyborg in the film, accused Whedon of “abusive, unprofessional” behavior on set. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published in April 2021, Fisher recalled feeling he had “to explain some of the most basic points of what would be offensive to the Black community.

Aquaman actor Jason Momoa backed Fisher, while Wonder Woman actor Gadot said Whedon threatened her career. Whedon, who rose to prominence by creating the fan-favorite TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, was also accused by star Charisma Carpenter of “hostile and toxic” behavior on the set of that show.

Based on interviews that took place last spring, Whedon repeatedly denied or dismissed allegations of past cruel or insensitive conduct. He also addressed his interactions with Fisher on Justice League. Whedon’s theatrical cut of Justice League heavily minimized the role of Fisher’s Victor Stone/Cyborg and in New York, the filmmaker said he simply did not feel Fisher gave a good performance.

“We’re talking about a malevolent force,” Whedon said of Fisher. “We’re talking about a bad actor in both senses.” In March 2020, Snyder revealed his four-hour cut of Justice League on HBO Max. Much of Fisher’s performance was restored, and the actor earned praise from audiences for being the emotional cornerstone of the film.

Whedon also denied Gadot’s claims that he threatened her career. He said he joked about a scene she wanted to cut, noting she’d have to tie his body to a train track to cut it.

Buffy star Charisma Carpenter claimed in February 2021 that upon learning she was pregnant, Whedon asked if she was “going to keep it” and “manipulatively weaponized my womanhood and faith against me.” Speaking to New York Times, Whedon acknowledged regrets.

Whedon’s career has been in freefall since Fisher first commented about his experiences on the set of Justice League. He left his HBO series, The Nevers, as showrunner and has no future projects on the horizon. The New York Times story marks the first time Whedon has commented on the allegations. Previously, an attorney and a spokesperson for Whedon denied some of them following an interview Fisher gave to Forbes in early 2021.

Ray Fisher is currently appearing in the ABC civil rights miniseries Women of the Movement.

Four popular South Korean dramas are getting remakes in form of musicals. Crash Landing On You, Hotel Del Luna, M, and Another Miss Oh are four in-demand dramas that are being turned into stage musicals.

The smash-hit rom-com Crash Landing On You (2019) starring Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin in the lead roles talked about star-crossed lovers and became a huge sensation worldwide. The Paris Hilton of South Korea meets an elite North Korean military officer — it’s an unlikely pairing if there ever was one, but Ri Jeong Hyeok (Hyun Bin) is all Yun Se Ri (Son Ye Jin) has in this mysterious country, and love blooms in the most unexpected places. Crash-landing on top of someone in a strange place will do that to you. It will be remade into a musical in September at COEX in southern Seoul, according to the Korean tabloid Yonhap. The details of the casting and production are kept under wraps.

Another hit TV series, Hotel Del Luna (2019) starring IU and Yeo Jin Goo is set for a musical remake. The fantasy romance drama is set in the middle of Seoul about the eponymous hotel that caters only to ghosts; the beautiful but ill-tempered CEO is cursed to manage the hotel due to a terrible crime she committed, but cannot remember.

The third drama to be made in a musical is Another Miss Oh based on the namesake 2016 romance comedy. It will start in March 2022 in Daehangno, central Seoul. As per the report, this marks its second run as a musical after its premiere two years ago. The original story features the ordinary Oh Hae Young (Seo Hyun Jin) who is used to being a supporting character in life because of her common name. But she suddenly becomes the main character of sound director Park Do Kyung’s (Eric Moon) mysterious visions and just happens to have the same name as his ex. By K-drama fate, they end up as neighbors and that's how the story goes.

Lastly, the 1994 medical horror series M is expected to start in February in Seoul at an arts theater in Dongguk University. Starring Shim Eun Ha, according to Korean outlet Soompi, the series, "due to aspects such as its storyline that involved abortion and its special effects, which included the green eyes of main character Park Ma Ri/Kim Joo Ri who was played by actress Shim Eun Ha. Its highest viewership rating was a whopping 50 percent and the average viewership rating was 38.6 percent."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex leave their fans moved with their latest heartwarming gesture. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle honoured Martin Luther King Jr. Day in the U.S. and gave back to The King Center in Atlanta on Monday, January 17.

They showed their unwavering support to Dr. Bernice King, daughter of the late Martin Luther King Jr., and helped by providing meals for volunteers and staff organizing Monday's events at The King Center in Atlanta.

Bernice took to Twitter to thank the couple for honoring her father through their kind gesture, “I’m so grateful for your graciousness in honoring my father.” she wrote.

According to People, Local Black-owned food trucks included Paige's Pastries & Bistro and Parlay Savory Saloon who served free lunches to volunteers on-site who helped put together the events. Events on the day included a voter registration and education drive along with a service project to gather donations for unsheltered and homeless individuals in Atlanta.

In addition to the various community service projects, the King Center also hosted the Martin Luther King Jr. Beloved Community Commemorative Service with keynote speaker The Most Reverend Michael Bruce Curry, who gave the sermon at Meghan and Harry’s 2018 wedding.

The King Center also added in a separate tweet, "Your care matters so much to those here to register and educate voters and collect items for our homeless neighbors."

The cinema halls in Maharashtra have been allowed to be reopened from October 22, 2021. Despite the onslaught of the third wave of Covid-19, the government in the state hasn’t shut down cinemas. However, while the theatres are functioning as before, with 50% occupancy and night restrictions throughout the state, one city stands as an exception. In Amravati, the theatres have shut shop since the start of the year and the reason is quite shocking.

Located around 150 kms away from Nagpur, Amravati holds significance in the world of the film business. It is the hub of the CP-Berar distribution circuit. The offices of all prominent studios like AA Films, PEN Marudhar, Yash Raj Films, Rajshri Productions, Zee Studios etc are located in Amravati.

A trade expert told Bollywood Hungama the reason for cinemas not functioning in this city, “The validity of the license held by the cinemas is for a year, from January 1 to December 31. The theatres usually submit a plea for renewal in November and before December 31, their application gets accepted.”

The trade expert revealed that when the exhibitors of Amravati submitted for renewal as usual before December 31, 2021, things didn’t go as planned. The expert continued. “The license applications along with all the required NOCs were submitted to the department of the Commissioner of Police, which has the authority to give the renewal approval. This time, the department however has, neither processed the applications nor even permitted the reopening of the cinemas. As a result, since January 1, 2022, all the theatres in Amravati have been shut.”

Though just five theatres are located in Amravati, the trade expert further explained, “It is plain harassment at a time when businesses have suffered in the last 1 ½ years. The cinema sector has suffered the most. It impacts hundreds of livelihoods directly and indirectly who run their kitchens through this sector. It comprises those who work in the cinemas like the ushers, security guards etc, and also those who serve externally like plumbers, electricians, food and beverage vendors. Moreover, the retail shops that are located in close proximity and who depend on cinema halls for footfalls are also suffering. So the question is not just of five cinemas but of the livelihoods of hundreds of people in the town.”

Prakalp M Rathi, who runs a cinema hall in Amravati, yesterday vented out on Twitter about the sad state of affairs. He wrote, “Out of whole of Maharashtra only cinemas in Amravati are closed due to licensing formalities already submitted papers more than a week but not yet received the licence from licensing authority (sic).”

Bollywood Hungama contacted Lokendra Jain, President, Central Circuit Cine Association, who confirmed that theatres in Amravati have been shut. He rued, “It’s unfortunate that authorities have the ability to stop our business on their whims. It almost seems like the entertainment industry has become a soft target. The livelihoods of so many people involved with this industry don’t even seem to matter.”

American filmmaker Joss Whedon has publicly addressed allegations of misconduct on the set of Justice League for the first time. In a profile published Monday in New York Times, Whedon responded to allegations from actors Ray Fisher and Gal Gadot about mistreatment during reshoots for Justice League, which Whedon oversaw after the departure of original filmmaker Zack Snyder due to the death of his daughter, Autumn.

In the summer of 2020, Fisher, the actor who played Cyborg in the film, accused Whedon of “abusive, unprofessional” behavior on set. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published in April 2021, Fisher recalled feeling he had “to explain some of the most basic points of what would be offensive to the Black community.

Aquaman actor Jason Momoa backed Fisher, while Wonder Woman actor Gadot said Whedon threatened her career. Whedon, who rose to prominence by creating the fan-favorite TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, was also accused by star Charisma Carpenter of “hostile and toxic” behavior on the set of that show.

Based on interviews that took place last spring, Whedon repeatedly denied or dismissed allegations of past cruel or insensitive conduct. He also addressed his interactions with Fisher on Justice League. Whedon’s theatrical cut of Justice League heavily minimized the role of Fisher’s Victor Stone/Cyborg and in New York, the filmmaker said he simply did not feel Fisher gave a good performance.

“We’re talking about a malevolent force,” Whedon said of Fisher. “We’re talking about a bad actor in both senses.” In March 2020, Snyder revealed his four-hour cut of Justice League on HBO Max. Much of Fisher’s performance was restored, and the actor earned praise from audiences for being the emotional cornerstone of the film.

Whedon also denied Gadot’s claims that he threatened her career. He said he joked about a scene she wanted to cut, noting she’d have to tie his body to a train track to cut it.

Buffy star Charisma Carpenter claimed in February 2021 that upon learning she was pregnant, Whedon asked if she was “going to keep it” and “manipulatively weaponized my womanhood and faith against me.” Speaking to New York Times, Whedon acknowledged regrets.

Whedon’s career has been in freefall since Fisher first commented about his experiences on the set of Justice League. He left his HBO series, The Nevers, as showrunner and has no future projects on the horizon. The New York Times story marks the first time Whedon has commented on the allegations. Previously, an attorney and a spokesperson for Whedon denied some of them following an interview Fisher gave to Forbes in early 2021.

Ray Fisher is currently appearing in the ABC civil rights miniseries Women of the Movement.
